MINIATURE PARK FOUNDATION

BERBULAND

Berbuland_txt_wit.png

The Miniatuurpark BerBuland Foundation was founded on 8-3-2022 from the idea of creative Bernard Buesink who had developed a fantasy landscape of 250m2 in his garden in an Austrian, Swiss and South German atmosphere and opened it to the public on Sunday afternoons during the summer months. audience. Bernard started building his landscape in 1973. When that started to take more and more forms, it quickly spread, so that guests from a nearby campsite also came to take a look. This gave rise to the idea of opening it up to the wider public in consultation with the municipality and the tourist office, and not without success. People came from far and wide to view the idyllic landscape and also to ride a round in a real train around Bernard's house, which he had built all by himself in the meantime. The casual and simple atmosphere also clearly appealed to many. Due to Bernard's health reasons, this beautiful model railway finally came to an end in 2015 after 36 years. Nowadays everything is in storage and is managed by his grandson Ramon Vreeman who has had the same passion and hobby as Bernard since childhood. Unfortunately, Bernard passed away on July 4, 2018, but Ramon wants to revive Bernard's life's work and continue the landscape at a new location and is therefore the founder of the Miniature Park BerBuland Foundation.

Who are we?

What does the foundation stand for?

Our foundation is mainly concerned with the preservation of Bernard Buesink's model railways and the history behind them. Bernard was sometimes jokingly called the man with the golden hands because he made everything himself. His background as a blacksmith served him well. His creations will therefore often be found again in the BerBuland miniature park. In addition to these creations, there will also be many beautiful stories, newspaper articles and photos

during the permanent exhibition at the park. In order to realize all this, a lot of renovation and restoration will have to be done beforehand, which we as a foundation want to commit ourselves to so that everything can eventually be placed in a new landscape and it can eventually be opened to the public again.

What are we going to do with funds?

In the initial period, we will mainly focus on renovating, restoring and improving all houses, trains and other objects of Bernard's old model railway. Special tools, materials and parts must be purchased for this, such as 3D

printers. All houses will also be equipped with interior lighting so that an evening opening will also be possible in the future. In the meantime, the search for a suitable location for the reconstruction of the miniature park BerBuland will continue. This is currently in second place as the renovation, restoration and improvements of all parts will take a lot of time, but if a suitable location

then a design can already be made for the situation in question. Preference is given to a spacious place somewhere in the outskirts of Aalten with a piece of forest where Bernard's narrow-gauge train can also be parked.
